Maverick wasn’t the type to let other people ‘take’ this pokemon. And yes, it was because he didn’t trust people. Although to be honest, he has never had someone borrow his pokemon and never return them. It was the thought that someone would never return them that bugged him.[break][break]

Crimson colored orbs shifted down to the hand that extended out for her sphere, fingers still grabbed the ball even after it hit the elder daycare man’s palm. He wanted to left go, but couldn’t forced his fingers to release the ball. The daycare man cleared his throat, forcing Maverick’s gaze to lifted to meet the mans. A moment of silently staring at each other filled the room. But after a few minutes, the burnt scarred man grunted and released her sphere into his hand. He gave him a nod, letting the shiny ceruledge out of her ball. Within seconds, the creature materialized. Ghostly flames burned ever so brightly, brilliant red eyes shifted from the old man to her new human.[break][break]

For the next several hours, the elder man explained as much as he could about this new pokemon. So much in fact, said ceruledge left them to go play with the other pokemon. But they knew it, it was getting late and Maverick had to get going. The ex gym leader thanked the man, recalled the fire and ghost type ball into her ball. Putting her safety away, Maverick was about to leave went someone else came into the shop.[break][break]

He remained silent while they interacted with each other, waiting to leave himself. Of course, Mav offered a silent nod in hello. It was only after did this Mint guy leave did Maverick turned to leave. However, the man was quick to stop him and give him a pokeball. A brow rose, unsure of what it was. The daycare man explained that his pokemon must’ve gotten a little too friendly with the other pokemon, and this was his. A heavy sigh escaped him, taking the baby and leaving the shop without another word.

The burnt scarred man extend his arm out to push the door open, ready to head home. But as soon as he put his hand on the handle and put his weight in to it, the door came back at him abruptly. The sudden unexpected thrust towards him threw him off, senting him stumbling back only to trip over his own feet and falling to his bum. And in that moment, the sphere he received from the daycare man went flying throw the air and cracked the nearest wall.[break][break]

Dazed for a moment, it took Maverick a second to register what just happened. Crimson orbs lifted to meet the gaze of the blue haired man who was just here. He gave a dark glare, eyes like daggers at him. “Bro you need to slow down,” he mumbled bitterly, slowly getting back to his feet. Maverick brushed off of the debris on his cloths, annoyed as all shit. His mouth opened, ready to rip the guy a new one. But when he spotted the fire type, his mouth clapped shut and his gaze searched for the ball he dropped.[break][break]

It didn’t take long to find the ball, or at least the creature that it housed. Brows rose at the sight of some kind of blue dragon creature. “What the-?” The man mumbled in a low tone, kneeling down to the little ice dragon level. “Who are you little one?” The little reptile’s head titled to one side, eyeing this strange human before it.

There was something about the little ice dragon that the burnt scarred man kind of liked. It looked mean despite its baby form. His hand reached out to touch it tentatively, only for the ice dragon to hear the familiar voice of its real trainer. The frigibax peered around Maverick, spotting their human and running towards him. In return, ignoring Maverick completely.[break][break]

A heavy sigh escaped the man, hand that was still reaching out to touch now the empty spot of the pokemon fell. Grunting to himself, the ex gym leader stood and faced the man who crashed into him. Maverick listened to the reasoning behind the name of the baby dragon, however his mind was somewhere else when he finally spoke. “Where did you find one of those?” His crimson colored orbs fell upon the baby knight fire type next to the blue haired man. “Oh then that one must be mine.” What in the world was going on?

It all made sense now. There balls got mixed up. And as the blue haired man offered out the sphere, Maverick returned the favor. His hand lifted, grabbing the sphere in his hand and placing the baby’s ice dragon with the one he had. Crimson gaze fell upon the young fire type, nodding for it to come with it. Surprisingly enough, the Charcadet listened to him. Smiling and darting to his side.[break][break]

“Alright then” the man mumbled, “let’s go. I have stuff to do.” The fire type gave a nod in return, darting out the front door without looking back.[break][break]

Maverick’s gaze lifted to the blue haired man. “Well… At least we got that settled. Though serious dude, you need to slow down.” The man strolled up to his side, pausing to rest a hand on his shoulder and meeting his gaze. “Serious. Slow.... down....” Maverick gave him a half smirk, nodding before his hand returned to his pocket and kept moving. A chime rang, indicating Maverick has left the place. Now, to find his own little baby ice dragon.
